Don José María de Ybarra founded Ybarra in 1842. We emerged with total dedication to the production of olive oil and later expanded our business to the market of: mayonnaises, sauces, vinegars, vegetables, olives, tomatoes and salt.
We increased our presence abroad. DWith an exporter spirit already back in the 19th century, we started distributing our products abroad, which earned us the Quality Award at the Philadelphia (US) Fair in 1876.
We participated in the Universal Exposition of Seville.
We innovated in 1945 by selling olive oil in plastic bottles.
We started manufacturing mayonnaises and sauces, revolutionizing the sector and becoming national leaders in this category.
Ybarra distribution and presence expanded to the US and Mexico.
Ybarra started to appear in the media via their advertisements and obtain their first advertising success with “Que sí, que sí, que el secreto está en la Y” (Yes, yes, the secret is in the Y)
We were the first company to sell olive oil in Tetra Brik.
We launched the “Olé, olé” TV commercial that became a new advertising success.
We received ISO 9002 Quality Certification, being one of the first olive oil companies that obtained it.
In Navarre, on the banks of the Ebro in Lodosa, one of the best vegetable growing areas in our country, known for its quality and variety, we began preparing all the vegetables commercialized under the Ybarra brand.
We created a new plastic packaging for mayonnaises and sauces, in response to new consumers needs.
Worldwide launch of the new crystal bottle for Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
New generation of plastic packaging for mayonnaises and sauces with an extra control valve and warranty seal.
We received IFS and BRC Quality and Food Safety Certifications.
We launched a new concept called Sauces of the World, inviting the consumer to discover international flavours.
We premiered a new more attractive design throughout our entire mayonnaise and sauce range.
We launched the first Light Sugar Free mayonnaise on the market. Low fat and with the Spanish Diabetic Association stamp. A product especially designed for diabetics and anyone wishing to have a low fat diet.
